Mus started an annales project some 2,5 years ago but it never got much further than SVR's foundation (which he was appropriately nagged for each time we saw him). It could also be a cooperative effort, of course.

That would be a splendid idea !

Annales

Postby Aldus Marius on Sun Sep 04, 2005 10:38 am

Salve amici!

I can supply considerable raw material for the Annales, and possibly some of the writing. Raw material consists of e-List messages and other assorted e-mails (including my half of any private correspondence), and personal copies of Board posts, and lots of things remembered (just nudge).

They don't call me Archive for nothin'...! <feg>

Deadline

Postby Aldus Marius on Sat Oct 01, 2005 6:32 am

Salvete commilitones...

I take it we're not going to make October 1st...? >({(:-|

Coruncanius' original decretum set the existing admin structure aside for a period of not less than one month or more than three. That was two and a half months ago. If we haven't coughed up an impressive-enough hairball by 17 October, things go back the way they were.

Have I got the sense of it?

Salvete,

Yes, this needs to be done soon. Not to say we need to rush things, but it's been dragging on for quite some time now. I'm fine with things as they stand in the current proposals, my comments were merely sideremarks and I understand that the majority on the Concilium sees things a bit differently. This may be good for SVR, who knows :).

Since Cleopatra will be gone until the 17th of October, let's plan to vote on the 18th or shortly thereafter.

Salvete Patres,

This is just to inform you that I returned safely back home from a wonderful trip to Turkey and that I'll be back on the net now regularly. Thanks for waiting for me with the votes. So let's go now...

Welcome back, Cleopatra!

I have a suggestion for Concilium. Could we make our vote on the new Regulae unanimous?

There appears to be only one alternative on the table.

And a unanimous vote would send a strong message of unity and support for the reform of the Societas.

Also, there is a precedent. In the United States, the delegates to our constitutional convention decided that the Constitution would only be ratified after all our states voted in favor of it.

Salvete omnes,

First, I wish to apologise for having been almost entirely inactive for the last two weeks. With the start of the new academic year I've been rather busy, but I'll try to make some more time for SVR in the next few weeks, in order to finish this regulae-business.

I unanimously agree with Tergestus' suggestion  . There does appear to be only one coherent plan for a reform of SVR's internal procedures.

I suggest we still reserve one week to discuss further details, if necessary, and vote on the proposal next Friday, the 28th of October, so that the new regulae - if they are approved - can be implemented by the 1st of November (a full month after our envisaged deadline...).

Approval in a vote of this concilium means only that the Regulae would then go before the Comitia of all sodales for approval, not implementation. It probably won't make much a difference, only a formality, but approval must be by the Comitia.

Well, we missed another deadline.

Let's just get started voting by roll call.

I vote in favor of the proposed Regulae.

Abstineo (I abstain).

Really, once we wrote the Collegia out of it, we weren't talking about the organization I joined anymore...

I confess I don't think this will change a great deal. That said, we have no alternative plans really.

Uti rogas.

Mari, I am confident that the new system will not harm the Collegia. It only replaces the structure they're in. But, as before, their flourishing will solely depend on the efforts of the sodales.

I hope you will get used to the new organisational structure if it is voted. And if anything goes wrong in the near future, we can still reconsider the status of the collegiae and amend parts of the regulae.

Well, first I want to apologize for my minimal display here. Largely I think most of this is trivial and unwarranted, and I've begun to seriously doubt the effects of any of this on the current situation.

I think I'll have to side with Marius on this and abstain as well.

Abstineo.

Eight of the decemviri have voted and six are in favor of the proposed Regulae. The proposal is passed. For the sake of completeness, I would like to invite the two remaining members of the Concilium, Orcus and Lupus, to vote as well.

I understand that Orcus has not been able to access the Concilium. Who should I ask to look into that?

You would have had to ask either me or Duellianus.

I have given Orcus full acces to this part of the forum.

Thanks Tiberii for giving me back the access to this forum. Don't know why I was suddenly cut from it.
