Well, if you make that oath, it's OK by me. Why don't you put it up for a vote?

Toga Tees

Postby Aldus Marius on Tue Sep 20, 2005 12:40 am

Salvete amici (Caldus, you're a Legionary already!!),

We should sell SVR tees and similar items. Cafepress.com will make all kinds of things using your logo or other camera-ready art, and then set up a storefront for you to sell them. The quality of their work is excellent; it looks like a professional screen-printing job, not a grade-school mimeograph ('member those?). Corporations, cartoonists, and other artists that you've actually heard of use this service to make and sell logo- or character-based merchandise.

My favorite thing of theirs so far is the Tile Box: a wooden box with a 4x4-inch ceramic tile with your design on it, just the right size and depth to store your Roman coin collection or other artifacts. >({|:-)

Other things I've seen there are hats (ball caps); sweatshirts; bumper stickers; decals; coffee mugs; desk blotters; and mousepads. I think playing cards, too...anyway, lots of ideas.

We'd probably want to go slowly on having items made up; we have a rather small customer base, and I can't say how many of them would be interested. Maybe that's what we can ask in a poll. But it wouldn't hurt--and might help--to let people use our logo anywhere it might be seen; if nothing else, it'd be free advertising! And then to be able to hand them something to remember us by--a bookmark, a pen, an enamel hat-pin.

In fide,
Aldus Marius Peregrinus.

Yeah Legionary I am lol!
Good ideas there, one way they could begin selling products would be to have it that people would have to make pre orders, then they make the product and send it.That way they wouldnt lose money by making over stock.

Salve Calde,

You should have to ability to edit your own post so you can still add a poll. If that's not possible, PM the poll questions and it's relative answers and I'll do it for you.

If I'm not mistaking that is how they work.
