Salvete Lucia et omnes
Hm, and here I thought I was the only pedantic a-hole in the place, mi Draco!
Highschool was so long ago I forget most of it. I am Giovangelo, or Gianni to most, and somewhere beyond 50, I don't keep close track, but still a youngster compared to Servilius Fidenas.
Locate, I was happy to read your Deutsch (Cleopatra, it's really poor, isn't it?) I mean it would have to be poor for me to understand it. I have not spoken any German since I was a very small child when I would spend summer with some German friends, and I have never learned to read any German. I can read Italian more than speak it anymore. Latin I studied in highschool over 35 years ago, and it shows. I forget nearly all the Polish I once spoke, except for some choice words, and forgot most of the Mandarin I once spoke, and some would say I have forgotten much of my English as well, but then, when you haven't a voice much of the time...
I come originally from Cleveland, Ohio in the US and now live nearby there again, after having lived for a while among goat-ropers in Texas and some other types in Arizona. I was once a soldier, a surveyor, a federal worker and some other things, eventually becoming a restaurant owner, before retiring. In the army I served as an intelligence analyst, and was injured, which has since forced me into an early retirement. I don't dance any more, and my singing voice, when I have any voice, isn't much. Along the way I became a widower, and did manage to dance my way into the heart of another lady with whom I have been married for over thirty years. I have had a daughter and five sons, only my two youngest sons surviving, the youngest currently in the army himself.
And university I attended a few times, in between things, and picked up two or three degrees, one of them a BA in History. Reading, I don't know if I enjoy it, I just do a lot of reading, always have. Rarely any fiction, mostly history, comparative mythology and religion. Those subjects being fiction enough for me. For enjoyment I like to pester Draco, visit museums, bother librarians with requests for rare books, do a little painting or gardening, chase away cats who scaulk around my bird-feeders, sing in a very horrid voice, when I have a voice. I prefer films from the 1930's, variety in my music (Benny Goodman, not Glenn Miller; Mozart more than Beethovan; lots of Blues; Sinatra and lately a lot of No Doubt, Evanescence, Tool, Three Doors Down, oh and a little Pink, too, but Eric Clapton is my favorite, followed by the Beatles and Elvis). Television I rarely watch except to view a film video. I grew up on radio, we didn't have television when I was young, well, my grandfather did but it was this huge box with a very tiny screen and Popeye was the only thing worth watching. And radio, I can still remember when there was no such thing as Rock-N-Roll. The biggest influence in my life I think I would have to say was Bugs Bunny, a personal hero, because he always took on the big guys, like Draco, annoyed them with questions until he made them look like maroons.
These days I seem to spend a lot of time online, more than I think I should, but I am unable to get around as I once could. So I research online, and do some writing, involved with the religio Romana mostly, and do a little teaching when asked. I use to be involved in politics, rarely anymore, but still am an active member of the ACLU and NOW. And I still have my license as a minister, which I rarely employ now except to chase away missionaries when they knock at my door. I think the marriage of Silvanus and Maia that we performed in SVR was the last time I conducted a wedding ceremony. I have the pleasure of not having to put up with anyone I don't want to (except the occasional doctor prodding at me and wondering why I am still alive), so that I can be as reclusive or as sociable as I please, and that is a nice sense of freedom.
