I have a welcoming present for all members of the new forum :!:

This is an utterly amazing site that contains scans of ancient manuscripts of Sumerian, Babylonian, Assyrian, Greek, Roman and Medieval literature. It has good explaining notes and the site's overall structure is very clear. A must see !

Yes, the miniature letter in the manuscript of Petrarca and the "illustration" that goes with the work of Boccaccio are stunning examples of 14th and 15th century illuminated manuscripts. The "Dark Ages" as they are called in Europe weren't so dark after all ;-)
