Good Roman Socio-Political Role Play

Postby Aulus Flavius on Fri Nov 24, 2006 3:04 am

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Freemen and Freedmen!

Are you looking for a good RP experience? Sick and tired of browsing Yahoo! and MSN for RP groups that are lucky to last the summer? Looking for a genuine Roman RP experience set the Republic (in the wake of the Second Punic War if you're curious)?

Then look no further, amici!

I give you Imperium!

A socio-political role play game established nearly ten years ago and still going strong. With a firm player base and a strong emphasis on playing within the rules laid down by the copyright holder, and governed by an annually elected umpire (how many of us have played RP games where half the time is spent trying to argue over who can do what to who and when?) Imperium can see you governing provinces, rising to the hight of Consul, or even Dictator, commanding legions, speaking for the People as a Tribune, passing laws in the Senate and the Assembly or just getting flithy rich.

Want to start off as a wealthy plebian aedile, helping to manage Rome?

Perhaps you're more of a military man? The plebian general rising through the ranks to command his own legion, and perhaps even gain entry into the Senate?

Maby you're an old fashio patrician, looking to return his family to its former glory?

A budding Cicero perhaps?

Maby even a Vestal Virgin?

Give the starting scenario's a look and see just what one best suits the character you want.

So what's the best thing about Imperium? You can do anything, so long as you stay and work within the rules. You want to be Consul? Pontifex Maximus? A general? You want to start a war? Maby even overthrow the Republic ;) ? It's all possible, so long as you work within the rules. Part of the reason Imperium has lasted this long is because it has such a firm framework for players to operate in. You want to be powerful, you're going to need powerful friends to get there.

So if you're looking for a genuine Roman RP that will actually last the distance and keep you properly entertained give Imperium a look.

Hope to see you there.

Vale,

A. Flavius

P.S. If you're interested in getting more specific information, our current umpire recently joined the SVR forum. Publius Manlius Torquatus will gladly answer any questions. Just be careful, not only is he a lawyer, he's British

* boogies on over there at triple quick-time, heedless of the possibility of tripping over his toga *

** surprises his friends, most of whom weren't sure he even owned a toga! **
