Avete Amici,
Please forgive me for writing in English but unfortunately I don't speak Dutch and am not sure if you all speak German or French.
At the Newsflash thread we had the idea of meeting maybe at a Roman style restaurant. But I also got another idea. There are some "Römertage" at various German towns/places which I would like to present here shortly:
15./16.05 (Which are the Pentecost Holidays in Germany) at the Museum in Kalkriese (near the town of Osnabrück) are the "Internationale Römertage". More infos (even in Dutch) at
http://www.kalkriese-varusschlacht.de
18./19.06. in Xanten at the Archäologischer Park (Castra Vetera)
www.roemerfest-xanten.de
12.-14.08. in Trier (the oldest town in Germany, Augusta Treverorum), "Brot und Spiele", their homepage doesn't show much info up to now:
www.trier.de/brot-spiele
For me the most favorable place would be Kalkriese as this is the closet to Hamburg. I guess Locatus who's presently in Berlin agrees with that. I know for the rest of you would be Xanten a good choice.
If you are interested I would be willing to organize something like accomodation, if group tickets are available etc. I think it would be a great idea if we get to meet each other at an event like that. I await your comments...
