Welcome to our Societas. I think that you are the first French member indeed. 8)

I quite like your choice for your praenomen, mon ami

I hope that your stay here with us will be a nice experience for you, and who knows? We might bump into one another sometime... Paris is not so far away.

I salute you

Salve Aule,

Et bienvenue dans notre société.

Few Frenchmen in here indeed, though a lot of Belgians (Flemings to be precise) are active in this community, including myself and Mencius.

Perhaps you could share with us what brought you here and what your particular interests in Roman antiquity are ?

Vale !

Aha, Lille, that's less than half an hour driving from where we live, near Ghent (Gand). I myself study history at the university of Ghent. Perhaps a cross-border meeting belongs to the possibilities for the future. Meanwhile, I hope you may find this community to your liking.

Vale,

Ah, Lille! Belle ville!

I would like to welcome you to our societas, and I hope more French members will follow. I would also like to remind you that posts in other languages than English are allowed. And that my English (and propably my French too  ) is horribly bad too.

Enjoy your stay!

Locatus

Salve Aule!

Welcome to the SVR! As Locatus pointed out, we're perfectly okay with you posting in French if that should be your preferred choice. Like you, I am also student (of English and German).

You're not the first French member in SVR, but I do hope you won't be our last, heh ;).

I hope you will enjoy being here. Don't hesitate to ask something if you want to know.

Optime vale,
Draco

Salve Quinte,

Salve Aule,

Welcome to the Societas! My experience of France and Belgium is limited to Paris, Bruge, Flandres and the area near Auvergne, but I liked all four immensely.

In the spirit of mulit-lingualism:
Non capisco, sono Inglese.
Przepraszam, nie umie mowic po Polsku?
Doverai no proverai,
Mi yodea? She'basha'ma'im uva'a'retz.
Je ne parle pas des langues biens, alors je parle plus de langues :-)

Take that, Monsieur Inquisition.

Bene valete,
Marcus Scribonius Curio Britannicus.

Salve Aule Aeli

:D May I add in my welcome too.

I should hope not, otherwise you might not fit in

[Muwhahaha! See Curio, I do use smilies  ]

I can barely understand any French, or Curio's Italian, and though I speak a little Polish I have no clue how to spell it (since it is not the kind of Polish you'll find in any dictionary), and as for my English, well, it's American English to begin with, not English English, and if I wrote it like I spoke it only Ericius and I would understand what I was saying, not that many here understand what I have to say anyway  So welcome to SVR! Bona Faortune with your studies, especially in Latin, and my you come to confront the dreaded Latin Inquisition :x

Vale optime

Salve mi Piscine,

Oh dear was my Italian that bad?
Well what I said in French was basically that I spoke no language well, but many languages badly, which appears to have been proven correct.
Indeed your newfound use of smileys does surprise me due to a statement you made in a Comitia thread a year ago:

"I hate all smileys." :P

You actually remember that stuff? Boy, and I thought *I* was spending too much time here... 8)

Salvete Romule et Draco,

First, my apologies for never having been to Ghent. :P

Secondly, Draco, I don't spend too much time here, I have a fairly good memory, and that incident where I exploded for no good reason stands out in my mind - that was where Piscinus made the comment, therefore I remember it. 8)

Bene valete,
Marcus Scribonius Curio Britannicus.
