Did the Greeks not have bisexual? I know Latin had cinaedus... But truly all are born bisexual at least to some degree. There exists no black or white but only shades of gray.
Actually, it is a common mistake to think that ein Berliner only refers to the "donut" - it in fact is correct, though the usage is somewhat less common. I suppose it would be as a Brit asking for a fag when he means a cigarrette. In may confuse some people...

As for rules and such, I noticed that Senatus Consultum de Baccanalibus appears much older than Ennius, cf. quom in Bacc. with cum in Ennius and the 'd' for certain ablatives in Bacc. but missing in Ennius.
