Salve Tiberi, As I've said before, in other regions they DID come as liberators (see Caesar who freed Gauls from inner conflict and truly civilized this truly barbaric nation). Whoa, easy there. Gauls barbarians and uncivilized? I won't deny that there was conflict amongst tribes, but to s...

They did, albeit very shortly. Atia's head slave (forgot his name) let's the spy into the mansion in return for sexual favors (though he doesn't know he's a spy).

Re: Injunction Function

Salve Tabernari, I've watched part of the YouTube video, but couldn't bear to sit through it. Really, I can't wrap my mind around the fact that anyone would take such a man seriously. In any case, I find myself agreeing with everything Marius said, especially this part rings true for me: ...

Salve Silvane, The only topic where a picture was requested (that I can recall of off the top of my head) was here: http://www.societasviaromana.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1635 Thought you picture seems to be a portrayal of Saturnus so perhaps I am mistaken. I also took the liberty of re-co...

Salve Tarbernari, I played a demo of the game once. I had a hard time grasping the controls though and everything moved so slowly . Though I've heard a lot of good things about the game (a lot of praise because of the depth of it's combat system and strategies), it could'nt keep my attention....

Salvete omnes, Very interesting to read your views on the matter, Livia. I am, however, puzzled by one of you statements: ...traditional believing Christians are a very small minority in Italy, and they probably worry more about the far wider presence of satanists. This strikes me as very...

Time to crank out the good ol' wine smiley again :wine: !

I'm amazed by the fact that Draco still has the most posts. Especially considering he hasn't been very active lately.

In any case, enjoy you rank while it lasts, I'm sure you'll make it to Dominus in no time

Re: Feriae Latinae and Pet pics

Salve Livia! If anyone wants to post images that are not already online somewhere else, send me a PM (private message, available through this Board). I'll slip you my e-addy; you can then send me the images and I'll put them on the SVR server. (That's actually been standard practice for years...

Re: Our Roman Year

Salvete Mari et Iohane, I find myself agreeing with everything you've posted Iohane, in particular the following: Taking the lead from your thoughts, I would expect us: To run our official calendar (as we do) on a "Consular" year; to align that year with the common-use Gregorian ...

Re: New Curatores and the Future

Salve Iohane, Another function is that of Promoter or Ambassador, as it were. My thought here would be about finding other Roman sites or groups (aside from NR) and seeking a sort of "sister city" arrangment by which we could promote the SVR there and they their org here. This could...

Salvete omnes, Interesting post, Piscinus, I always like to get a better view on NR from one who has been (and still is) in touch with NR. Especially when concerning differences and similairities between us. I am interested to see how they will mature further. Btw. what is TRW? I think ...
