Salve mi Valeri, It's hard to judge Nerva, of course, but reading up about him, it seems his reign was a financial disaster. I would judge Augustus's only weakness as the one that eventually undid the Empire (or was, I think) his neglect for establishing a clear-cut system for succession. The ...

Oh no, Orlando Bloom. Why do they keep casting him in historical movies? As an actor, I think he has a very narrow reach.

Salve Marce Calidi,

Welcome to SVR. I can do little to add to the lengthy explanations of Piscinus and Marius, but if there's anything you need to know about SVR, you can always ask me, since I've been around here pretty much since the beginning :).

Salve Mari,

Well orginally Mencius is from the Ganda area :). I think he's back, because a few weeks ago I saw him in a pizzeria here.

Salve Valeri Claudi, Well, the major Roman hotspots in Belgium are Tongeren (Atuatuca Tungrorum) and Velzeke, both of which claim to be the oldest permanently inhabited human settlements in Belgium. Tongeren has a bigger museum, but neither place is as fancy is the great European museums with Rom...

Salve Valeri Claudi, Yes, Tarquinius and Tiberius are my natural brothers, which is also why they share my cognomen. They have never been involved in NR though. Publius Dionysius Mus used to be an Apollonius, like me, and Aulus Dionysius Mencius is his natural cousin, though the two branches of D...

Salvete conlusores, I agree with most of what Marius has said. My period of preference would be somewhere in between the Flavian and Antoninian dynasty. I think we should definitely agree on one or two central plot points before we start, this time. An unsolved murder case, maybe? An inheritan...

Well, I think a new story would be better. Maybe something nice and simple to start with, one that we can actually finish :).

Salve Curio, Well in the meantime I've been involved in the porn industry. Kidding. In 2005 I've graduated as a master in English and German, and against my own intuition but through the advice of an (ex-)girlfriend, I pursued a one-year course of teacher training. Now, I like teaching, but...

Salve Piscine,

Well it's not such a hard task for me to keep up a bank account. Chances are slim I'll completely slip of the radar. I still read e-mails during my inactive period in SVR, so...

Salve mi Valeri,

As far as I know the money of the Respublica was given to it by wealthy people who ran for office, or Senatores, who also had to pay a sum to retain their rank - a plutocratic system. But I'm sure that others will be able to elaborate on this better.

Salvete Piscine Marique, It is quite simple: two people go to the bank together, set up an account for SVR which they jointly share, give an address and wait a while until they get a card for that account. If somehow one of the two people cannot fulfill their duties for an extended time, another ...

Yes, I practiced Shotokan for eight years, almost every day, but only reached first kyu (ikkyu). It was a combination of tough teachers and a slow learner. Oh, I wouldn't feel bad about this, during my 1,5 year I took about one or two training sessions a week and fell slightly short of reachin...
