I have read about this, not sure where as of right now, and was interested in learning more about it. If the historical way is preserved, please do tell! If not, has anyone made the attempt ...

Thanks for the replies. :D
I was only wondering about the deities because i've seen some have what you called the Lar Familiaris. I was confused by that. But i get it now.
And for reference my Lararium and altar to the deities is separate.

I am asking if the deity you associate with your Lares is always an epithet of Ceres, or can it be another deity?

Question on the Lares and the Lararium

I have seen that many of you have a deity that is associated to your Lares, particularly an epithet of Ceres. So how do you know which epithet She is, or even can it be any deity for that matter?

I know this thread is pretty old, but i feel compelled to post regardless. I am relatively new to the Religio Romana but have followed basic Roman Paganism for a long time now. My Patrons are the Magna Mater, better known as Cybele and Attis. I am not one for polytheism in my own practice, ...

Epithets of the Gods

I would like to use this thread to list a variety possibly most of the known epithets of the Gods of Rome. Also it would be great to have definitions of what the epithets imply. I will begin with a couple of the ones i know of the top of my head. Jupiter Optimus Maximus: The Best and Greates...

Creation Mythology

Ok, i was wondering what one or some of the creation mythologies are with the ancient Roman religion. I know that the Roman pantheon is so extended due to Rome's conquest of the Mediterranean and Europe, but are there any specific creation stories? I am preferably looking for non-Greek myths becau...
